Curaçao is a versatile island. With an area of 444 km² (61 kilometers long and about 5 to 14 kilometers wide), Curaçao is the largest island of the former Netherlands Antilles. It is located in the South West of the Caribbean Sea, 70 kilometers off the coast of Venezuela. Due to this location, Curaçao falls outside the hurricane zone.
The stable temperature of 28C and the cooling breeze from the always blowing Northeast trade winds ensure a pleasant climate on Curaçao.
The official language on Curaçao is Papiamento, but mainly Dutch and also English and Spanish are widely spoken.
